I am trying to decide how to keep fingers warm in the winter. I hate to speed $200 for gloves. What are the pros and cons for heated grips, wired gloves or battery powered gloves? Thanks for any experiences you have had with any of these options.

Winter motorcycle gloves arent very cheap. I like the safety features so I will go with a set even with the high price. You can get non motorcycle winter gloves for alot less. Here is a recent thread with some more info.

I recently upgraded from a 2003 Heritage to a 2008 Ultra. My hands were much colder on the Heritage due to the lack of fairings. I asked my Harley mechanic and he was pretty honest about the heated grips. Stay away from them for a while until they perfect the technology. Seems folks that get them installed are bringing them back for several reasons. So I spent the $$$ on some nice thick gloves and wear a "windliner" inside the thick gloves. You can also get those little heat packs to help out. Seems to work for me. Hope that helps....

Those gauntlet gloves are not in stock at leatherup.com any more, but I see them on ebay for $15, buy one pair that you think will fit and another pair 2 sizes oversized so you can wear one or more layers of glove liner, and get the reflective Michael Jackson liners for $4, and your total investment will be under $50 and you'll be good for an hour at 30 degrees.

This review series rehashes some of that previous one, but a new product is 2 finger mittens and top quality rubberized rain-cover for them.
These 2 finger mittens seem to work even better than my previous best gloves on the coldest morning, especially considering that I couldn't get a size large enough to wear my liners, and I haven't yet tried the rain covers, which I consider the warmest layer of cold weather hand protection. The gloves were $40 and the covers another $15 but they'd be worth it.

Nita and I love our heated grips. Problem with my first set...dealer installed new @n/c. Had them installed on our new '03's so 6 yrs' trouble free on hers and one(free) exchange on mine. Bulky, cumbersome gloves stay in the closet. Never tried heated gloves.
