Leather to Hard Bags

I have a 2013 Road King Classic. Can I buy a set of hard bags from HD that will go right on to my current bag mounts? From time to time I find myself in places where it would be nice to be able to lock the bags. Aftermarket recommendations too please. Thanks ya'll.

It is my understanding that the hard bags will utilize the same brackets and support rails as the Classic bags; however, you will need to rotate the Z-shaped mounting brackets to align with the grommet holes and anchor pins of the hard bags. No other modifications should be necessary.
I put hard bags on my 99 RKC should be the same on your 13, mounts right up no mods required.
I did the same on a 07 RKC. Slight adjustment of the brackets was all that was required.
I did this on my 13 rkc
cost about 1500 dollars for hd bags
locks srews and latch reflecter are extra
take your barrel key with you so you can match locks

Why don't you add the HD locks to the leather bags? That's what I did. You can order a set of locks with keys that match the ignition and now you will have 3 spare keys for the bike. It may have been $10-$15 extra to match the keys.

Yep ... the rear brackets are fixed. The front are adjustable. loosen, then set the hard bags on, pin the rear and wiggle the bag to make sure its set then line up the front brackets, pin and tighten. At this point it's very important to step back, have a beer and check out how the paint job flows the length of the bike.

I'd get the locks and not destroy the beautiful classic look of the leather bags. I
f you look like a scary mother efer when you park your bike, nobody would ever mess with your bike anyway. If you look like a lawyer or Gomer Pyle or look down to find your side stand, you may need locks.
