Loading a trip into GPS

I have 3000 miles on a 2014 Limited. Planning a 6000 mile trip. Leaving Aug 18th. Getting ready, I used the Harley Ride Planner and plotted the trip. When I loaded the trip onto the GPS it showed 19 separate trips. I read and found that it only holds 9 waypoints. I broke the trip into 4 parts, same problem. Last night I erased everything from the GPS and the USB drive. I created a simple 5 stop trip (Spring-Beaumont-trinity-conroe-Spring) when I loaded it into the GPS,It loaded 5 seperate trips (Spring to Beaumont, Beaumont to Trinity, Trinity to Conroe, etc...) ... Im certain that the problem is something simple or stupid on my part. Any ideas on what I might try to fix this?

If I cant figure this out, I'm going to mount my Garmin next to the Harley GPS... Seems kinda silly to spend $30,000 on a bike with a GPS and then have to mount an additional GPS on it..

(FYI...going from Houston,Denver, sturgis, yellowstone, reno, Yosemite, Highway 1, Las vegas, grand canyon,Tombstone, Houston)

Practically speaking, what is the difference between a single trip with 19 stops and 19 trips? If you are stopping at the 19 different places, wouldn't you just select the next trip when you were ready to move on?
That is the way it is with the built in GPS. No way around it. Lots of folks are just mounting there Garmin's and using them, way simpler and it wont cost you $200.00 for a map update. The infotainment system has a lot of set backs one of them being 10 year old GPS technology.

Lots of info online about this just do a search on Harleys Infotainment system.

Thanks... I'll just mount my Garmin somewhere and use it... Kinda sucks though....I guess I can always hope for a software update.....
I have no issues using mine (infotainment ) on my 14 SGS. yes the ride planner interface sux but if you simply put in a destination each day it works flawlessly. Would not want to hang a Garmin on the bike in addition. That is being stubborn....

Sound like a great trip! I'd be your GPS!!
Im just pouting.... I guess I should be happy that I got a new bike... It's the small things that get irritating.... I'll play with it and see how I can work it out... I'm gone 19 days on this first trip.... Sounds like a lot of files to save.... I got a week to figure it out.... Thanks everybody for the help
When I want to plan trips using specific back roads, I enter legs of the trip, then name them Z1 -name, Z2- name, Z3-name. Using the Z1,2,3 makes them display by distance. Each time I reach one destination, I just select the next, and hit GO. I use Google full screen map on my computer to select my roads. I still like to tape a turn/road list to my windshield.
That is a good plan breeze!
I use the Harley Ride Planner and just some simple tips:

Plan route start A and stop B for one day. In between the start and stop you should be able to put in up to 22 waypoints. So just put waypoints at places you want to stop...As you're riding on your trip the GPS will talk to you stating something like approaching waypoint and it should show a FLAG..don't do anything on the GPS just keep rolling along and it will automatically reset and guide you to next way point showing mileage to the next waypoint.

So you will have Day 1 trip with up to 22 waypoints
Day 2 trip with way points, etc

Does this make sense?

I know it's a PIA..but it works. This is how I broke up my trip to Sturgis a few years ago, a day at a time
How can I get a trip from trip planner downloaded to my bike?

Should be able to save them as favorites. As said earlier letter them all aa, ab, ac, ad, etc. they'll all be at the top of your favorites in the order you want to see them.
Getting the trip planner isn't hard.. understanding how it was designed to work is the tricky part.... Log into Ride Planner on your computer.create and save the trip... export it manually from Ride Planner to a USB... Plug it into the bike... When you pull up the navigation.. look at the top before you do anything else.. hit the menu.. use import.. load it and you are in business..

I planned a trip around my neighborhood as a test like rosssn2 said in the post above and it works well.. Once you know how the software is designed to work, its not so bad to work with.....
OK... once you understand how the thing is designed to work its not that bad,,. It's just that Harley uses a different plan than the rest of the world... On the trip planner... once you have it down, convert all of the stops to waypoints except the first and the last,, The map shows the entire route, it takes you to the waypoint, once you arrive at the waypoint it automatically takes you to the next one.

If you somehow stop the gps after you hit a waypoint, not a problem, just select all when you load it and unselect the points you already hit and it will pick up from there.. Took a 15 year old nerd to figure it out... he made a flowchart and made it all look pretty easy...

Can you post that flow chart for the rest of us techno challenged folks?
