I have a 2019 Road Glide ultra. It currently has the 117 stage IV upgrade and everything except the exhaust has been done by Harley with Harley parts. I am at 11000 miles and I still have a bad noise on any hard acceleration. I worked on cars for years and if I had to relate it I would say it detonation noise from not tuned correctly. The dealer says this is normal. I have the extended warranty. Has anyone else experienced this sort of noise with the M8?

try an octane booster if you feel knock is an issue, not sure what fuel grade you have near you, but make sure u use an unleaded fuel and if possible a recreation fuel with no ethanol, the advantage of none ethanol fuel is that it will richen up the air fuel ratio just slightly, if you have a basic harley download, you are probably lean anyways.
also run a good oil to help keep the oil temps down n motor cool, the cooler it runs the better the motor can fight off knock

does the dealer have a dyno, if not..track down a dealer that does and have them diagnose it on the dyno, you may have too much ignition advance, or a combination of that and a tad lean, its crude but tie off a plastic bag to cover about 3/4 of your air filter, this is a good way to richen it up and see what that does

alot depends on the combustion chamber and parts..the range of 13 to 13.5 tend to give the best power
