New to safety inspections. I'm up here in Maine. They dont take your bike out for these do they? I'm already uncomfortable if they even sot on my bike to mess with my lights.

Not sure about Maine, but when I lived in Virginia, they had YOU turn on the signals, sound the horn, show that the brakes worked, ect...they wouldn't sit on your bike, even at a bike shop that did inspections.

Years ago when I lived in Texas you paid the inspector $2.00 and he slapped a inspection sticker on the left fork tube. Out you went with a approved bike

Depending on the shop they may have you show them. But I've never had a ship take my bike out for a spin during an inspection. No reason. They can feel the brakes and see the lights as it sits with the stand down.

Im glad I live in a State where the people that actually ride their motorcycles know more about keeping them maintained than govt bureaucrat paper shufflers. [/Sarcasm]
