I need to change the mainshaft bearing inner race on my 08 Ultra. The manual calls for HD-34902-B to remove and install the inner race. A buddy of mine tells me he has the tool for the 5-speed but he's not sure if it's the same for the 6-speed. Can anyone tell me if the tools are the same for the 5-speed and the 6-speed?

Yes they're the same tool. The 5-speed and 6-speed shafts arent that different in that the parts IN THE TRANS are the difference and although the clutch baskets are different between the 5 and 6 speeds, the shaft is approximately the same.

I've used the tools. I know guys that cut the race, or put a bead of weld on the race and tap a new one one, and have never had issues.

For the resord, I'm a huge fan of using the right tool for the job.
