I am interested in this over heating problem.
What puzzles me is. When Harley went over to rad cooling on their bikes ,can anyone explain why ?.
I mean all the air cooled Harleys i have owned have never given me a problem in hot weather.3 weeks ago I got stuck in a massive traffic jam on my 2002 Fat boy ( not water cooled )
It was about 94f and it took me about 1 and a quarter hours to get about 3 miles .The bike was ticking over the whole time without a problem.The only one suffering in the heat was me .
So why did they opt to go to water cooling which seems to be giving problems in hot weather .???

Didn't get to ride much last year so the bike lived in the garage (sinful, I know...) - just got a new battery and she's started up fine. BUT...

The cooling fans aren't coming on. They don't come on when the maxi-fuse is removed and replaced, though they do spin by hand.

I see it's a relay connection. Not knowing too much about relays - i don't know how to test it without just replacing it. Since I may be facing a more expensive repair here, I don't want to through any extra money into it than I have to - can anyone give me any more advice of any other electrical connections to check or troubleshooting I can do, save replace anything in line?

I did check the butterfly connectors under the left hand radiator shroud and they seem fine...

Weet niet bij welke dealer je hem hebt gekocht maar dit hoort natuurlijk niet.
Je moet er gewoon mee kunnen rijden zonder dat deze ermee stopt. Persoonlijk zou ik het probleem bij hun neerleggen. Op dit forum vond ik hetzelfde probleem:

Hij komt van Van Mol Melsele, Ik heb daar al meerdere motoren gekocht en nog nooit geen probleem gehad, top kerel die Geert. Morgen ga ik de motor terug doen en kijken wat hij zegt, hij staat ook al te koop voor dealers, evt een wissel of een overname. Ben het echt niet gewoon om een motor te hebben waar ik aan moet werken en die mij belachelijk maakt in het openbaar ben dus eens curieus voor morgen. Hij heeft wel een mecanicien die aan Harley kan werken dus hoop doet leven.

i will let you know if the problem is solved, it is the heating it was 2 days 30° so to hot. I'll hope that the dealership will make a deal tomorrow. Fix it or change it for a other one 😉
