Planning a trip for next year to the Pueblo area as an Iron Butt 1000. Gonna be there about 5 days before returning. Anyone route suggestions for while we're there?

Blue mesa reservoir. Near Gunnison. I went through a couple years ago and that place was beautiful.
Grab a copy of Steve Farsons book....
Also search here for his name. Is /was a member here.

Good stuff.

I love Colorado...around the Telluride area...but then again our son lives there...you got to ride the Million Dollar Hwy.. also Mt. Evans is great..hell the whole state is great....Steve Farsons book is amazing..well worth the $$ even if you never plan on going to Colorado...
I'll pick up a copy of his book. I looked it up and it sounds like just the thing to read before the plans are made.
Gonna be myself on my Softail and a buddy on his Streetbob. My O/L will be in the truck as a chase vehicle. She wouldn't be able to do 1000 miles in 24 hrs on the bike.
The first day there will be for relaxing/recovery.
That should be a great trip. Have made a lot of long non stop rides it challenges the body and mind. People should try this as you will see you can do more then you think. 1000 miles in 24 hrs is a saddle sore 1500 in 36 hrs is iron butt. I missed iron butt by minutes very depressing after all that work and it is work let me tell you. Good luck have fun.
