I have a 1998 Low Rider... Just changed the jets cause bike was running lean.... Put everything back together, Now the throttle is harder to turn & the throttle valve that holds the needle doesn't go up when you turn the throttle.... Any ideas???

Throttle cables kinked?
They look the same way they did before I started with the carb. Nothing looks unusual
That's all you did?

Pull the cable back off the carb and at least isolate it to your cables or carb this will help your direction of attack.
Yeah, that's all I did... Didnt touch the cables
And when I turn the throttle, it stays all the way open
That sounds like a symptom of a pinched or kinked cable.

Do like mvious1 said, remove cables from carb and turn the throttle plate by hand to isolate problem to carb or cables.
Dumb question... Did you remove the carb from the engine and leave the cables attached?
Yes.. I did!!!! What could I have done??? As of now, I seemed to have fixed the throttle, it's not tight anymore.... But the throttle valve is still not going up when I turn the throttle
Throttle is likely hard to turn because of the cable jumped the groove in the throttle tube. Loosen cables and pull throttle switch housing apart.

Slide doesn't go up when you turn throttle unless engine is running. It lifts with vacuum......not mechanical linkage.

Hey Dave63... I pretty much fixed the throttle cables, and I did have the engine running when I noticed the slide wasn't going up... Bike runs great when choke is out and when it's in, but soon as you give it some throttle, slide doesn't move and bike stalls out.... And I'm leaking gas out of the drain plug on the carb

Did you ever remove slide diaphragm cover? Black thing on top?
Yes, had a tiny whole.... Just got a new one put it on, vacuum is back, that's working... But still leaking gas on bottom of carb, by the smaller tray... Someone just told me it could be that the float is stuck open. ??
