I have a 1993 HD FXR with 56K miles. I noticed the original clutch slipping, so I decided to replace plates with Harley OEM friction plates, steel plates, and spring plate. Also, I replaced pressure plate with an after-market plate.

After installing new plates, the transmission will not dis-engage when I pull the clutch lever? I have checked the ramp bearings and did not notice any issues. Also, I have tried doing clutch adjustments, but no results.

When I pull the clutch, the clutch rod does push out the pressure plate, but transmission stays engaged. I am able to change gears and find neutral (with motor off).

Now, I am out ideas on what the problem could be?

Make sure the clutch cable is fully loosened before making the adjustment on the clutch push rod.

Which pressure plate did you get?

I have the clutch cable fully loosened, but still no luck.

As for the pressure plate, I believe it's made by Drag Speciality.

I loosened the sprocket nut and re-adjusted the compensating sprocket. It seems to be working now

Thanks

Did ya pre-soak the friction plates in Sport-Trans fluid or ATF?
