Hey everyone, my names Jackstand Johnny. 28 year old new member from Virginia. Been since I was 21 but I've been on a mandatory break since I lost my left leg in a motorcycle crash in October 2012. Been spending the last 2 years dealing with bone growth and infections, surgeries and recovering with my leg and rebuilding the bike I crashed as well as building/selling a few others. I'll finally be getting my first prosthetic leg in a couple months and the plan is to have a bike ready to rife when I am.
I've spent the past 8 years building and riding streetfighters, but all my friends who ride own Harleys. I'm here because I've finally caught a break when a client/acquaintance of my Fathers agreed to go be me His basket case titled 70s Shovelhead Electra Glide with a sidecar. I have no idea what shape its in but I've been told its in pieces and is salvageable. No pictures of it yet, but I'll have some the day I see it for the first time.
So my plan is rebuilding it with as many good parts that come with it that I can, and any thing that's too far gone will get upgraded. Since its my first Harley and its a classic, its gonna be a mild custom build with a classy paint job and color scheme. Its still a sidecar bike at the end of the day and that's cool enough. I don't see a need to go overboard like I do with my streetfighters.
So that's it from me. Im looking forward to learning everything I can about these bikes and getting to know all of yall. Thanks for having me here.
