On my RoadGlide it is a real mess to change out the oil filter.
I have tried putting a piece of cardboard under the filter to catch the mess. This Usually results in getting oil all over the ground, bike and cardboard.
So I'm out in the garage the other day and I spied my cordless Dremel tool.
Next oil change, I'm gonna take the 1/8" drill bit and put a couple of holes in the filter to drain the oil out.
This should be a little easier to control (catch) that the spurt of oil that comes out when loosening the filter.
Will try it and let you know what happens.

Yeah, that coke bottle trick worked wonders beacause my voltage regulator is in the way for just a ramp down the front.

Mine has the oil cooler mounted on the front. I will probably try the bottle out the side.
