Anyone know the best way to removing the oil filter, without making a mess? I bought K & N oil filters, bought the plastic oil catcher, which never works. I get it done, but some oil always drips by. Thanks

The oil catcher may work better if you use a long sharp punch to poke a hole in oil filter shell to drain the filter before you remove it. Or you might prefer to use a drill if you're skittish about hitting the filter

Cut the bottom and part of the side out of a 2 liter bottle, leave the cap on. Then when you take off the filter the oil will collect in the bottle.

My oil filters come with a drip tray, the box it comes in. I rip the flaps off one end so it fits tight to the case, and then it just makes a nice "V" shape for the oil to run out. I do stuff a rag over the front motor mounts just in case.
