If I put an older H-D king tour pack onto a quick release kit for my '12 SG, I'm hearing I'll need to drill new holes.

Has anyone does this? Is there a different plate or anything I'll need? I already have the quick release mounts on my bike. I'll need to get the part that attaches to the pack.

Anything I'm missing?

This doesn't answer your question but I'll throw it out there as an option.

You can get a box like this off e-bay for about $100 and mount it forward/aft any position you want. I needed alittle more room between me and the passenger and this works very well.

It's no Tour Pack, but I can buy 10 of them for the price of the HD product. I was going to use it while I looked for a good price on a HD product, but it works so well I think I'll just keep it. You can get them with the wrap around backrest and top rack too.

Basically what I was asking is drilling four new holes to attach the newer quick release bracket all that is necessary or is there more to it?
