Can anyone give me an idea of cost est for a paint job on my 06 xl883r. Front finder, rear finder & gas tank.
Not looking for a redicules job.
Thumper has a wrap black/silver that is covering a pepto bismal pink.
Would want it stripped to metal & a good simple black & silver like the wrap was.
Would like to drop bike off for the work.
Im in Columbia sc

Several $100 to 1k+ depending on where you go.
That is why there are things called "estimates".
A minimum of 3 is usually suggested.

I had my 1999 Fatboy Fenders and new 6 gal Tanks Painted. Price was $988. He said He would double coat them for $1350 so I opted for that. No Runs, No drips just a great Paint job. Remember not everyone can Paint so be careful.

It is hard to do it yourself for a few hundred! Stripper, Sandpaper, Primer, Primer hardener, Reducer, Color coat, Clear coat, Clear hardener, tape, wax/grease remover, polishing compounds, etc. Good paint nowadays is expensive.

Take all pieces off the bike, and visit a few body shops. You should be able to come away less than $400.00

I was quoted $600 if I brought in fenders, side covers and tank. An extra hour and a half of labor if I brought the whole bike in.

Do the pieces need any body work? If not then ^00 seems high, I.d shop around other shops

That was on an older bike. The Sporty I have now is nearly perfect paintwise. Just throwing out the figure for reference. The shop was legit.

that sounds very reasonable for first class oem paint match stripes and clear coat. he probably has examples of his bike work on his phone too.

It most certainly wasn't a replica job with stripes and such-just a basic two stage respray with sanding and priming. The shop does tons of high end automotive jobs here in the Phoenix area.
