Have a 2006 sportster 883R that has been wrapped. It is pink under wrap.
Want to strip wrap & pink & repaint black & gray.
Would like to find shop to disassemble & do whole job.
Anyone have any info of cost estimate for such a project?

Like anything else, it really just comes down to quality and how much you're willing to pay. I looked into it before just for kicks and giggles and had ranges from $300 to over $3K.

If you're handy at all, I'd say to do as much of the prep as you can yourself to save some cash. Since you're getting it repainted, pull off the wrap and use some stripper to get the current paint off. Might take you a few hours, but you'll save quite a bit.

And make sure that the guy you choose is reputable. I now have to have my 14 SGS completely redone because the 1st guy phucked it up so bad that guy I wanted in the first place won't touch the other guys work! I had to bring him a full set of OEM tins that I scrounged up for him to paint or he would have changed me $1k just to strip off the other guys paint. And most guys don't like to take your bike apart and be responsible for any damage to the skeleton while it sits in their shop. You can save a lot of money by removing the tins yourself and taking them to his shop. That gives you plenty of time to do a complete and through cleaning while you wait for the paint job to be done.

FYI- the new paint job is costing me $3500 for candy tangerine/orange complete with pinstriping. But then again, I have 12 different parts that need paint and your 883 doesn't have nearly that many......
