Hi,
I ride a 95 sporty 883 that has been popped out to 1200. I have heard all the girl bike/fag and homo comments to kill a horse so you can keep them to yourself.

I took it in a week ago had everything looked at to make sure she was ready for a longer ride than I have been on with her, about 9 hour ride to the coast so I could paint my grandmothers living room for her.

The guy did some basics, cleaned air filter, spark plug swap, changed turn signals to running light duos, changed oil sensor which has been leaking a bit, added air to tires, so on and so forth... one of the other things he had done is routed the breather hose from the super charger back into the super charger, I have always been told it needed to be routed to the front of the bike and it will spit oil there, before that the breather hose has been melted off and I had something on there that wasn’t correct.

Okay so I made it the whole way without any problems, but the other day going another 50 miles to another stop on our list the bike lost power, now the guy who worked on the bike told me he did something “don’t have the paperwork in front of me” to give me an extra 25% power ie which calculates into more speed, sooo I wanted to test it out, I opened it up quite a bit, came to a small town where the speed dropped to 45 and I dropped my speed knowing it’s a speed trap town, after the town I started back into 5th gear and after 55mph I would add throttle but it wouldn’t accelerate, it would rev up but no acceleration... I pulled in the clutch to down shift, and as I did the bike dies.

I pulled over to the side of the road downshifted all the way and started it up with no problem, went another 5 miles kind of chugging, I thought maybe I was low on gas so I switched to reserve and still chugging, went from going 45mph down to a speed zone of 20 and again as I pulled in the clutch she dies.

I road around town and bit the next day no problems... so trying to get some ideas... the reason I mentioned the rerouting of the breather hose back into the super charger is I was wondering while he said this was a “cleaner way of doing it so the oil becomes recycled” I wonder if it’s clogging my filter maybe.... I’m not a mechanic so don’t know.

After a statement like that first thing I would do is get a mechanic.

By "supercharger" do you mean hypercharger?

As for hypercharger or supercharger I have no idea it’s been called a supercharger by everyone I have talked to

Did the Mechanic say he upped the "boost"?

Far better Wrenches on the board then me. But they will want to know what they are dealing with.
If you do not really know what you bought then a picture would help.

Interesting, humor where I am from means it’s funny, thin skinned? Naw old nam vet told me growing up people call you a fag then you take them in the woods and make them swallow their own teeth.

That guy thought he was funny too... wonder who’s sense of humor is more funny

I would try loosening the gas cap it may not be venting or if it’s the stock petcock the vacuum part may be messed up. As far as 25% more power that’s funny usually it takes a lot of money to gain that and running the breather back into the intake is definitely not better than running it to the the outside . I think you should find a new mechanic

I have spent a LOT of money on several Harley's to increase the power. I've gotten a 25% increase, but the bike was pieces and parts for a while and I was eating cheese sandwiches to pay for the parts. With that said, I've not helped you at all. One part of your description about 5th gear, 55mph, add throttle revs up, but no speed increase, says the clutch is slipping. Many of us use different names for the same part, but Hypercharger and Supercharger cannot be interchanged. They are totally, completely different things. I know people that have been in the same business for decades and they are still incompetent.

Afraid I have to agree with these other guys, you need to find a real mechanic, esp. since it seems you know very little about what you have or scoots in general? Also with your attitude you might not receive as much help as you hoped for............

Find a real mechanic, and lose the attitude, it`s annoying.

I can`t believe I responded to this troll.

There is no motorcycle here, just a troll...

Hook, line, sinker........

It was his mommy's bike. He admitted that. Maybe you should ask Mommy how to fix it. You need to find out more about mommy's bike.

Yup.....there is a big difference between a Hypercharger (fancy air cleaner/ normally aspirated/$150)
and a Supercharger that compresses the air and forces the air/fuel mixture into the intake under pressure. The compressor is driven by the crankshaft by gear or a belt. (forced induction/ $2K+).

It could be a Procharger , but I've never seen one on a Sportster, their kits are for Big Twins.

We will have to wait for the OP to post a picture to find out.

Had same problem on my 883XLR
Was not getting gas consistently. Run great 2 or 3 times out then lose power and come back, sometimes die & crank right back up.
The gas filter inlet is angled, outlet is straight.
Mine was turned angle down. Making gas go uphill into the filter. Filter was always half full.
Turned angle up, filter is full now & no more problems.
Hope this helps.

A general rule most people follow is "Never make fun of another guy's bike". Only bullies call people thin-skinned who don't like their unprovoked "jokes". It's because they don't have the IQ to dole out true humor. My Sportster 1200 was only ridiculed once, and it was by a woman online who hadn't seen it and kept insisting I must be short. I'm medium height, but I had it because the price was right, it handled great, it pulled like a mule, and it looked/sounded AWESOME. I traded it mainly because I wanted something more suitable for an occasional passenger. Sportsters make great solo bikes, and they are so dang nimble.

Heard guys rag on each others rides far worse than anything posted here. From the ever popular "Geezer Glide" , Don't ride in front of me parts are always falling off to "Did anyone live after riding this ?" quoted from my Grandfather Then everyone took off together.
