Raising suspension Iron 1200

Remember that if you went with 1" longer shocks you will not get 1" more ride height. The shocks are angled so you gotta use a tad bit of geometry to calculate the actual height you will get. I had a 2019 Iron 1200 (man I miss that thing!) and it never bottomed out or scraped the exhaust, but I had short slip-ons so they are not the same as yours at all. Post a pic of it when you get them on.

That was me in high school. 40 years and 100 lbs ago lol!

It’s an awesome bike it truly is! I had some Vance and Hines Shortshots on it before and it was ear deafening loud so I went with the quieter, catted system lol. When you’re complaining about loud noises at 20 years old you know it’s too loud😂
I had short ebay $100 short slip-ons with torque inserts and a small free flowing air cleaner. I payed around with those X-ied things hooked up to the O2 sensors but could never get it just right, so off they came. That thing was night and day difference with just not even a complete stage 1. Guy at work always bragged about his Yammy 1400 something. I beat the snot outta him with that Iron. Then he wanted to go against my VTX. I asked him are you sure man? That thing is way faster. I annihilated him so bad he wouldn't even talk to me for a week. I told him that maybe he should start saving up lol.

Traded the Iron in for my first Big Twin, 2014 Deluxe 103. The one in my avatar. Very comfy bike. I need to build a bit more power though because, well, I want more! haha! I'm still in my 20s at heart!

Torque cones are different than torque inserts. The cones go up at the head and start of exhaust. I have never used them. Torque inserts are like what you described and yes they do work. When you go straight pipes or almost straight, your torque drops off big-time at the lower rpm scale. The inserts correct that by making the exhaust flow properly once again. Read up on it and it will make sense.

This is where I got mine:
