Rear Master Brake Rebuild

Rebuilding 95 dyna rear master cylinder. Seems you have to buy the whole cartridge body as one piece. Can not buy the o-rings by their self. Hardware store time? Are they something special that dot 5 won't eat? Bore and plunger look good. Had good pedal and stopping when used. Was leaking at push rod end. Small flat spot on o-ring that seals the plunger inside the body. Would not think it is any special kind of rubber. Same as cal. piston boot? Thanks for any replies.

Don't know if they're similar, but on my 99 sporty I had to buy the whole thing like you are saying. Couldn't get o-rings for it.
Hdwr. store o-rings will do the trick. DOT 5 doesn't eat rubber or paint.

Thanks Schmit, did not think it did. Just like the confirmation. That's why I like to throw things out there. And throw my 2 cents in.

Ace hardware
Ace is the place? Couple hardware stores closest o-ring .005 smaller in dia. Put it back together will see what happens. As long as it does not leak out the plunger end will be happy. Drag bike. Don't use the rear brake anyway. Well only in emergency. Have to pump it to get it to grab. Push the piston in so their is no drag

All back together. Pedal feels good. Keeping pressure on pedal, no leakage. Take it out and see what kind of skids I can put down. Tire is shot anyway. No ABS needed here!
