found one EBAY but can't log in. I'll try the quartz.

Like everything else, proper design of reflector and lens. Most of the time, you get what you pay for. Hella, Bosch, are expensive quality brands, there are others.
I have used/am currently using the 2 following items with great results.....
Headlamp: Candlepower 5 3/4" "Super Brite" Motorcycle Lens Reflector (No Bulb)
Bulb: <b>Osram Rallye 70/65w +50 H4 bulb</b> 64205
