I just bought my first motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson XG750 Street. I don't like the mirrors. They are too low, and don't stick out far enough. I'm having problems seeing behind me. I'd like to replace them, but I can't get any information on the specs for the ones that I have now. I can't even track down the thread size. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I put the HD split vision mirrors on my RG. Disappointed. Seems to me the view in the convex portion is the exact same field of view as the regular mirror portion only smaller. So, I found 2" convex stick-on mirrors at a Target store and stuck them on. Did the trick--much wider field of view. Now, one of them did start coming unstuck so I used a drop or two of Gorilla Glue and it has been fine since.Harley sells a set of mirrors that has a smaller convex mirror at the outside tip. I have them on my Dyna and I think that they are great. They are stylishly designed and incredibly functional. They let you see what is behind you and along side you with ease.
I can't imagine using any other mirrors.

+1Mirrors are good. But have never trusted them 100%.
I check them regularly when riding. But if changing lanes my neck does the work. For the exact reason mentioned, blind spots.
