Hi, not been here for a while... things have changed a bit. I bought an FLHT about 6 months ago, my first HD ever (Guzzi's before) Sadly, we are parting ways. No fault of the bike, it's me and my buggered knee. STILL waiting on a surgeons appt to even see if he will replace it. So, I worked out a deal with the shop and I am swapping in for a 2009 FLHR It has a reverse kit fitted.
I know a mate who broke his (sheared the brass pin) I've been told different ways you are supposed to operate this gear.
Engage, start bike, reverse, turn off bike, disengage (straight cut gears, no synchro?)
Or, just start it, put into gear, move it, but make sure you disengage (obviously) before selecting first. My problem is I have to reverse my bikes out of the garage, onto a gravel drive that is narrow, so have to turn them somewhat to face toward the roadway. So this reverse will be a real boon in reducing knee ache.
So those who have the reverse kit, your thoughts please?
Oh and Merry Xmas to all

Can you back it into the garage?
