Plz help! I have a 1988 low rider fxr. I have an oil leak on the front cylinder rocker box. I have taken apart and put back together for times, each with new gaskets. The leak is always in the same spot. I asked the harley dealer if they recommended a type of sealant, and the said hylomar. I bought it, put the engine together and still have the same leak! Any thought? Thanks

+3.... If it's not level you can try to level them on a flat surface using valve grinding paste... Worked for me.

Plus I do like to use a thin layer of a good gasket sealer like Hymolar or the like.

AND.... Take a look at the new gasket, I'm assuming it's a rubber one. On my 86 FXR I have to trim the new gasket in one corner as it has a loop of rubber that is made to fit the newer covers. If I do not trim it then they leak like buggery.

Agreed, either the center section, top, or both are warped. Common problem.
