S&S has a new three cam motor called the X-wedge. It will be available from 110-139 cubic inches. Complete with emissions-legal fuel and exhaust systems. It was created to solve chronic problems of over sized vtwins. It includes significant innovations in the areas of function, simplicity and ease of manufacturing. Total engine weight, with intake and oil filter is 150 pounds
5 pounds less than an S&S 117-inch engine of traditional design.
Its now in its third generation in final development, with all major engine castings tooled, ready for production, which should commence in August,2007
Look for X-Wedge powered Big Dogs in 2008 :ride
Just think, Harley is just know putting 96"motors in production!

To keep more of the exhaust sound so many riders love, other sound sources must be quieted. This is why the X-Wedge drives its three cams (two exhaust, one intake) not with gears, not with chain, but with a special Gates toothed belt.

X-Wedge will not slip into engine mounts built for Harley-style designs—it requires its own frame owing to its larger size.

X-Wedge Big Dogs should be available in third-quarter 2007; private sales of individual engines in 2008.

There was a detailed article in Cycle World a few months ago. They said that it should put out about 135 hp at the crank. It's a pretty nice looking engine. Kinda reminds me of a flathead for some reason.
