Security

Hello all. A little while back I had an issue with a guy breaking into the shed where I kept my bike. This incident was foiled for him by my small but mean as hell Chaweeni..."Funny as hell". However now I am having the rear of my property Landscaped to build a proper mancave and that old shed has been torn down. So for awhile I have to park the bike in front of the House under an RV port. So I am trying to put enough security on the bike to slow any would-be bikenapper down enough so me ,My Gun, and my mean ass chaweeni can get out there. So far I added the siren to my factory alarm and have also gotten a pager, I put Disc Locks on both front and rear as well as ran a chain around the fork on the locked side of the bars to the frame crossmember so that in order to break the stearing they have to cut the chain . Indoor outdoor cover with cover alarm. My only concern is that I haave been hearing these guys actually get a few people and pick the bike up and throw it in a truck. Has anyone heard of a Bike the size of my 2014 SG with tons extra crap adding wieght just bieng picked up and carried to a truck? Niether the front or rear wheel will roll do to the disc locks so unless they back a truck up right by my bedroom window they will have to carrie this thing 30 feet... Again right by my bedroom window. Has anyone heard of these shitbags bieng abel to disarm the alarm system on a 2014 alarm setup with siren and pager??:eek:eek:eek

wow
you would be better putting it in a friends garage or storage unit. if you ride everyday park it out of site. i use to park mine in the kitchen but i was in a real crummy area.
If they want it they will get it security or no security.
have good insurance pics and receipts of all add ons.
I am in agreement for sure and I have a real suspicion that "They" want it. You see I was invited out to a BBQ by a member of a club that claimed to be a family club, However after I arrived I quickly realized that they were very closely associated with our local 1% club. Then after about an hour I happened to walk out to my bike parked out in the bike parking in front of the fair grounds and litterally busted the SGT at Arms and another member going over my bike. One "SGT" was taking phone pics of the bike and the other one was closely inspecting the engine compartment on the side that the sirene would normally be mounted, Which mine is not. I saw the one guy try very hard to locate the number at the base of my engine but becouse I have all the chrome covers he couldnt get it so when he started to walk around to the right side of the bike where me Vin Number is I palmed my gun and interrupted the inspection and told them both to get the F*ck away from my bike and I left. A friend of mine who is a service writer at the dealership where I do buis told me flat out that thats exactly how they do it. You see allot of these "Types" have connections within the dealer and they know several things I.E. #1 that every dealer programs a default pin into your FOB and allot of customers never change it "This dealer uses the last 5 of the bikes VIN, so these guys inside connections look up the bike in the system by the VIN and they have your Address and everything they need to get a Key and the default PIN on the fob or they can simply use an overide code to shut the alarm down and Ride off. He also Told me that the dealer will tell you that to make a key that you have to have the bike at the shop but that is not true they simply need the numbers. Many of the less than honest Clubs have people who have become mechanics and employees at the dealerships. I am not In anyway including all clubs or Harley employees who ride with clubs becouse I know quite a few very honorable Brotherhood's out thier. Due to my last 3 years in LE I had many occasions to interact with our particular 1% Club here and some of those guys were pretty straight up and you knew without a doubt where they stood. Now that last bieng said it seemed to me in my last year that I began to observe a younger and somewhat less disciplined influx of patchholders who leaned towards the reckless and were intent on proving themselfs to be allot less sophisticated then thier older brothers and therefor we end up with situations like this. And that simply means that in thier inexperience and arrogance they screw the pooch and get cought in what should have been the easiest stage of this thing "Info Gathering". I spoke with an older but retired patchholder after this happened showed him my cell phone pic and he got red from his neck to his forehead. Over a beer he spent an hour ranting and saying it was dumbasses like that that had made him retire. Dont get me wrong I did my Job with regards to these men but no question ever existed as to where we stood and myself nor my detail ever screwed em. Anyway it is what it is and I told him to pass it along that if they come they better send some prospects they do not like becouse they will not be coming back.

Just remember the adage, If they Want it, They're Going to Get it. Low life thieves like these have the experience and resources to get what they want and it'll disappear forever. Hope your new man cave has some serious security provisions because I suspect you haven't seen the last of these critters.
Used to have to park outside under an awning.
Actually drilled into the concrete pad. Bought a case hardened eye bolt. Put a nut some large washers then aother nut on it. Set it as deep in the hole as I could with the eye still exposed.
Packed the hole with Quick-Crete. Chained through the frame to the bolt.
Yes. They will come in groups, 3,4 and literally pick the bike up to but it in their vehicle.
God I hope they do try to pick it up...GOD PLEASE LET THEM. The bike is never at the house by itself I am a daily Rider if its here I am here and they would literally have to carry it by my big bay window in my bedroom and if hey can outrun the slugs that are going to be chasing them then they can have the dam bike. The only other way to get her would be for them to back the truck up through the yard and pick the back up and throw it in, The problem they have there is the cab of the truck will be even with that window I mentioned. So I really hope they try that becouse the cab of that truck will become a deathtrap very very fast. Best part about it is my backround facing that direction is absolutely clear so I can put 15 rounds out without a worry in no time. My only concern is them disarming the alarm but I changed the pin on the system and the fobs and relocated the siren on the bike and even if they find that my pager should still work. But if I am asleep and they can defeat the alarms then I could have a problem. the security on the new Shop/Mancave is great becouse it is going to have a garage built into it so if they breach the door to get in they will trigger the system then they will have to deal with the door leading to the inner garage where the bike and boat are and by then it will not be a break in anymore it will be a shooting.

Toby, I understand your concerns and views, but posting details on the web might not be a good idea. If something happens, and you carry out the above, it could be used against you as proof of "baiting".
Yea B.S. and all that, but there is always a lawyer ready to try and make a payday for a poor, misunderstood scumbag thief(s). :mad
I appreciate and respect your input my friend However my history on the job and the attempt that was already made where I didn't employ a lethal solution coupled with the laws we have in place should be enough to protect me from suit. And at this point I will be very frank. Over the course of my twenty year carreer there were many Perverts, rapists, violent robbery suspects and low life thieves that I could have made the decision to put down do to thier own actions during arrest and I never went beyond "Less Lethal". Now that bieng said I firmly believe the D.A. and the judges in this city would find my way. Now my attitude if they should give one of those lawyers a civil suit win is simple, I don't care! Niether my Military retirement nor my LE pension is garnishable from any civil action filed by a private party. The scouting that was done on my bike is well documented at the sheriffs office and the local PDs Gang Intelligence office. So right now I am simply stating my complete and utter willingness to use deadly force within the laws of this state and country to Defend my family and my property. If they sue me **** em becouse I will not back off my stance. If they were to come and then when confronted act like that last guy who got cornered by my chaweeni then of course I will not just gun em down. However the ones looking my bike over were not the same caliber criminal so with that in mind for safety sake they can not be approached the same way. I have two signs on my property one says "If your found here at night you will be found here in the morning" "If you trespass you will be shot if you survive you will be shot again" and they are not decoration they are factual warnings.

At least one sign I have seen over the years:
Trespassers surviving my attempts to use lethal force shall be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Just a word for the rest of the group here. If the bike in question was wanted, and it was wanted that badly, it would not be "picked up" at the house. Just follow you long enough to find your pattern, then "pick up" the bike where it was parked .

:coffee:
see next:spank:
Well webco that would depend on the individuals bieng able to "Follow" long enough to see any pattern now wouldn't it? I dont know about you but I do not ride like a slomo so anyone trying to follow me is going to stand out. Then if they can beat the Alarm "which I already admitted im not sure about" Then they have to assume the owner of the bike in question is ever very far or even out of site of the scoot when its not in a secure location. Now that is a risky assumption "as witnessed by the first tard who I busted scouting it" however very few criminals are very smart and I love it when they think they are becouse that is what leads them to one of the two places they belong Jail or the ground. Now I just said "Very Few" becouse I have met a very select few who are very smart. One of which is still walking the street even though we absolutely knew of some pretty violent crap he orchastrated but like I said he is a very smart individual and I would bet money that he never gets picked up and convicted. So yes there are some who could get it but as a rule criminals are stupid. Now as far as the particular "Club" that I believe to be involved I am hoping that after my conversation with there retired brother they will just drop the idea all together becouse frankly I spent my last three of my twenty doing nothing but dealing with them so in all honesty they are someone else's prroblem now and I really hope I never have anything to do with putting cuffs on or bullets in any of them ever again.
