Slight Wobble

Hey

hoping someone can provide me some insight. Picked up a 2018 road glide, 10k miles on in. 14 inch bars.

Now my question is, when I take one hand off of the bars, there’s a pretty good shake in the handlebars. Kind of to be expected while riding I suppose. But at certain speeds, if I take both hands off of the handlebars there is a visible wobble during decel. Now what’s strange is if I’m in higher RPMs or a higher speed and take both hands off the handlebars, there is no wobble until I start to come down on the RPM’s.

the second I even touch the bars again, the wobble is gone. The inconsistency is stumping me. Any idea what would cause an inconsistent wobble like this?

edit: is it something to worry about if no wobble when both hands on the bars?

I had a very similar problem and went into a shop in Port Angeles. When I described the problem the owner said "steering bearings" I told him I had done the fall away test and it tested perfectly, he said "steering bearings" when I continued discussing it he called one of his guys out and had him ride my bike. He came back and said "steering bearings". I said ok fine, adjust them. They did and like magic the wobble went away.

There is nothing like a GOOD experienced wrench. Worth paying whatever he is asking for. And a good tip.

make sure the crown nut over bearings on yer front end aint loose.... Bearings wear over time then front end gets loose and forks get sloppy.... jus sayin fergot more n they know 39 servi / 49 servi / 75 glide,,,,, 1/8th -1/4 turn should do it.... wanna bet a beer?

previous answers make sense... the bearings or the tires...
but just in case both options don't fix it, I will tell you about my experience almost 30 years ago to consider it just in case:
I got a similar situation, but even worse: the front end randomly began to wobble and then entered in resonance, a vibration that was impossible to stop just grapping hard the handlebar... I needed to slow down fast, braking with the rear brake to not make it worse, in order to stop the resonance and keep riding.. the problem was a shock absorber that was bad... is was dripping/losing (almost imperceptible) internal fluid... they told me at the shop that it also happens when one or both shock absorbers are damage or old (not your case)... that bike was used, so maybe it got a hit, a hard bump, that damaged it...
just an idea to be considered..!
good luck fixing it.!!

I had a similar issue with the shocks causing the problem, but it was the eyelet bolt bushings in the shocks. I'm glad they were replaceable. Forums have saved my ass many times sharing info like that.
