When I bought this 2012 Road King I had the dealer instal a combination digital speedometer with analog tach. Starting a couple of weeks ago it is malfunctioning. Every time I turn the power on and start the beast the fuel status indicators display "low" , the fuel idiot light is on, and the clock needs to be reset. After a couple minutes the fuel stats indicators revert to normal but the clock needs to be reset still. Reset the clock and it hold until shut off. Turn back on and clock needs reset again.

Any thoughts what's going on here?

Thanks for any feed back.

Sounds like the dealer didn't hook up a wire that needs a constant 12V source.

I'd make the dealer do the job right.

Sometimes the MoCo website has the install instructions if you'd rather avoid the dealer and they stole your paper instructions.

In that case, would an aging battery cause that? It's 2 1/2 years old now.

No, if you have the juice to start the bike the battery is not the problem. Like Kainam said, loose connection in the speedo.

Pull the dash panel up and check the connections and ground wire.
