Looking to upgrade from an Ironhead to a more highway friendly 5 speed Sportster. What year(s) did the 5 speeds replace the 4 speeds in the 883-1200 EVO models?

More highway friendly? unless your a purist you might consider 04s, first year of the rubberised engine mounts.

I bought a 2009 Sportster 1200 in August. It's not real comfortable on a long ride. In fact come spring, I am trading it in on a Heritage Softail.

Comfort is a relative thing I've done Iron butts on mine and it's sweet at 100MPH on a smooth piece of interstate.
Dont confuse the 100 with the iron butts, Safety is a priority in the IBA.
