My '05 XL rides hard and shakes my bones on bumpy roads. I weigh about 180, and it seems like the front forks have very little room for travel. Bike has about 10,000 miles. Never changed the fork oil...not recommended yet. Would a fork oil change make a difference? Also, would a heavier weight oil make a difference...or is this just the way it is?
Thanks.

Using heavier oil will add some stiffness to the fork travel . Preloading the springs will add some travel .
