I am new to Harleys rode goldwings since 1986 decided I wanted a Harley.kept my Goldwing for long rides. I keeping hearing about this stage 1 kit can anyone tell me what is involved. dealer want 2000.00 for kit sounds awful high

1) Free breathing air cleaner.
2) Free flow exhaust.
3) Rejetted carburetor or remapped EFI.

Well... That 2000 dollars includes quite a few hours of labor... If you are willing/ able to wrench at all you can save some money... And I did my stage 1 for around 1600... And some people will say that I played too much... I did the the labor my self

Harley ventilator( free flowing intake) used for 150
Rinehart slimline duals 950
Screaming eagle super tuner 450
And a download from the dealer 40 so my total was 1590
The only thing I needed the dealer for was to do the download

I did the install myself, it wasn't that difficult.

I went ebay on mine ,

Python version of V&H Big Shots $185.00 (ebay used)

Power Commander III EFI tuner $125 (ebay used)

S&S stealth air cleaner $130 new from J&P cycles

Installed every thing and downloaded map myself ,

total = $440.00

Did mine at the 5k service. Got a set of Rush slip ons on Ebay for $80 new and put them on myself. Got an Arlen Ness Big Sucker from J&P Cycles. Had them go ahead and install that and the tuner/download at service time, all for around $700 if I remember right. Total just under $800.
