Hi
I'm trying to source a new starter motor for my bike. It's a 1990 Evo 1340 FXRS; any idea where I can get this? There's no number on the current one
Thanks

If you tell us what is wrong, maybe we can save you the price of a starter....

Having your starter rebuilt at a local starter/alternator shop is lots cheaper than buying a new starter . :)

Only just managed to get the bike into the workshop at work this week. The starter motor just spins up most of the time, occasionally, it engages properly & turns the engine over.

Like I said " starter over run clutch". Just replace that part, not the whole dang starter !
All starters have over run clutches. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. !
Also, remove the solenoid cover, 3 screws, and check the plunger and contacts for pits and corrosion.
Disconnect the battery before working on the electrical system !

Turned out to be simpler than I thought. I took the primary cover off & the bolt in the rear of the starter had come loose. Re-tightened it & it turns over every time. Just got to get a new gasket & fill it up

Thanks for the tips
