Running push start ... ignition on, hop on, hit the run button, kick in 1st gear and pop the clutch !
I forgot to mention 'don't forget to put the kickstand up' first !

It doesn't matter upright or on the side stand ... you just pray it starts !
If the gas tank is low then starting on the side stand would be my option.
