If your bike is stock height, you'll be good.

I've used many dampers on my race bikes and advocate them even more for normal stret use, as there are more bumps and chances to interfere with the natural front wheel oscillation, causing headshake.

I highly recommend them.....

I've had fast speed wabbles with my 84 FXR and 02 Softail and wished I'd had a steering damper. But any FLH model I've had seems to be rock solid as far as the front end goes, though the rear end could use some help.
