hey all, im looking for info on changing my steering lock cylinder.got the allen set screw out but it still wont come out:what?,so im thinking the forks got to be disassembled?if someone has changed one and can let me know how to get it out that would be great thanks.

Did you try swinging the forks side to side while pulling on the lock assy. ?
If my memory serves me right the lock has to be removed before the stem will come out of the fork neck.

Some models have to have the stem dropped a few inches to remove the lock assy. If you are working on a Softail, I don't know the specifics.

had to replace my ignition switch so I got the set so I have one key

You could have ordered your new ignition switch keyed to the original key number ! You can still do that because they sold you a generic ignition switch. Easier than changing the fork lock.
