Hoping for some help here

Installing a set of HD Streamliner passenger floorboards (for FLHX). Is there a trick to getting the foot pad inserts to set? I'm pushing down on them as hard as I can to the point of shaking the bike and they keep coming loose.

Thanks

They don't sit flush to the chrome. There is supposed to be a air gap there. I thought I had the same "problem" when I installed the wife's as well.

Left side - they pop off pretty easy, afraid they would come out on a ride. Doesn't seem right.

Yea, something is definitely not right. I have those pass. boards and they are tight together pinching that thin rubber flange as a gasket. I cannot help you any more then that. I have not had them apart before.

Maybe the chrome cover is not allowing the rubber grommets to pop all the way through the hole? Remove the cover and try, then reinstall the cover, and it should just compress the grommets a little? I also wet the rubber when installing.

A little soapy water and they set right in place.

Thanks gentlemen - appreciate the help.
