Tearing up Talimena!!!
Ok boys and girls it's time for an Oklahoma meet and greet for new and old members alike!!! And I would like to see forum members from all over attend if possible!!!
We can meet in Talihina and have breakfast/lunch at "The Hateful Hussy" restaurant(which is where Gtrman66 & myself stopped to eat on the way back from the collision) then ride the mountains over into Mena,Ark. and back.
This will be an informal get together just to meet our fellow forum members and even meet some old acquaintances we may not have seen since collision. We can ride over slow and easy or go balls to the wall-ROY!!! Whichever we do is fine with me.
No excuse for Okies not coming outta the woodwork!!! If KD is coming up from the gulf coast I'm sure you guys/gals can make it!
And the end of Oct/first of Nov is the best time to see the fall foliage.
I figure Saturday Nov. 1st would be the perfect day for this event. It is a few weeks after the Texas Twister and gives us all time to regroup to ride again.
I'm open to suggestions as to what time/place you guys wanna meet up if not at the Hussy. We can finalize after I get some input.

Ok guys I have confirmation with Pam, the owner of the restaurant and she says 10:00AM would be the perfect time to accommodate our group!!! So here it is in stone.....

Oklahoma meet and greet.....
We meet up Saturday November 1st in downtown Talihina Okla. At 1000AM at The Hateful Hussy diner. After we eat we proceed to our assault on the mountain!!! There are lots of picture/scenic opportunities on the many lookouts throughout the ride. Once we are in Mena,Ark. We'll have lunch and then boogie back over the mountain! Some of the guys have stated that they'll be staying the night in Mena. There are several places to stay in Mena so there shouldn't be a problem getting rooms.
If anyone wants to meet up at my place before I head out just let me know. I'm located in Durant, Ok. And I'm taking the scenic route up there!
This is gonna be a blast!!!

I wish I could do that but riding on tire chains or studs for that far just doesn't work ?winter is just around the corner here. Yeck.

Yep.. This is my kind of ride.. I will be making this trip probably 6or8 times between now and the end of the year.. Count me in.. I will probably make a 2 day ride out of it and stay in Mena..

Soon as we have confirmed dates I am taking time off work...I may do like lakeforktx and stay the night in Mena or somewhere close so I can ride the next day too.

Man I would love to do this with ya'll. But my wife's daughter is getting married that day. I've already raised enough hell that she set the date during Blackpowder season, I probably shouldn't go any further.
We actually made that ride yesterday. was an awesome day and ride. only downer was the bike wreck we came up on. a guy on a BMW took one wrong and hit a corvette. seeing the wreckage, I didn't give the guy a chance, but then I saw him sitting on the guard rail talking to the hi-po.
