Replace every 30K miles to avoid getting stuck along side of a lonely road.

Checked them at 20K something, very little wear. Been lucky with this bike. Only major issue has been a fried stator and a battery replaced on warranty.

On older bikes the tensioners were almost guaranteed to grenade at about 30K. The new cam plate introduced a much better tensioner pad and wear. My Road King has 12K on the new cam plate and tensioners and ,looking at them a few days ago, I noticed very little wear.

I checked at 39400 ,almost no wear on either one.i will replace at 50000.i was really suprise d to see 1mm wear.synthytic oil I guess??

I know S&S made a chain to gear tensioner conversion for TC's.

When it comes time to replace the chain tensioner I'd swap it out for a gear driven one.
