Candy, I read about the rare white turkey yesterday. I almost posted it here. Reason for not, been interested in hunting all my life (66+yrs), started at 7yrs old trapping. Folk Lore, never take RARE animal. I've passed up all I've ever seen, maybe not a lot, but quite a few. OMV!

There was a white buffalo that was born here in CT on a farm a few years back, tribes from far and near were fawning all over it.

Just courious. No judgement. Do people eat moose or is it mostly a throphy kill? And if people do eat moose, is it good? Taste like beef?

People eat moose. Supposedly like elk or bison. Can’t recall if I’ve ever eaten moose before. Eaten just about every other wild game animal in N. America. Most are quite tasty.

Next time I get up North I'm gonna have to give it a try. Down here in San Antonio I don't think I'm gonna find it. I could start stalking the zoo :think

I've had it , it was as fresh as it could be. It tasted like venison.
By buddy shot it with a broadhead from about 40 yards while sitting in the back of his canoe, I was sitting up front.....he told me to duck down low.

Meat is expensive in AK , so anything harvested is better than an empty freezer.
