Thinking about buying a 2007 FXD Superglide

I'm thinking about buying a 2007 FXD Superglide with 25,000 miles. Are they quite costly to maintain compared to my Kawasaki 650R sport touring bike? Are the cam tensioner shoes an issue? Thank you for
your replies.

Buy it!!
It's no more trouble than the Kawasaki and easier to work on. I believe they fixed the cam chain issue in '07
Not costly at all and Larry is correct.

yup they did -
How much? $8,000 or less is going price.

I live in Canada. They're asking $9,250 in Canadian funds. What do you think would be a good offer, being in the winter and all. Thank you.
I don't think that is totally out of line. You can always offer less. Worst they can do is say no.
All the newer Harley's are way more reliable than the 70's models. I can personally attest to that.
Do your homework and see what they are going for at the dealerships. It doesn't sound that out of line.
Well , just let me say this ................There ain't NOTHING cheap about a Harley !!
But , its worth it .
A Harley is only cheap if you leave it alone...It can quickly become more costly than a bad wife if let it. I had a couple "bad wives" and now I don't. I am now happy and solvent. My 05 ( 5th HD) is stock and I LOVE it!! :biking:
A thing is only expensive when you're spending money you don't have on something you don't want.

A Harley rarely falls into that category.
