Seriously it's got a few miles left right? :what?:what?

160/70/17 Commander II after 16k. Glad to finally get this POS off my scoot. They may be great on a heavy bagger, but they are slicker then worm sperm in the wet on a Deuce.

Any tire suggestions from people on FX series Softails and Dyna's?

Welcome fellow refugee from MCII on a softtail. I did 9K on my MCII and while they were OK, for me they just did not cut the mustard.

I went from them to Avon Cobras. Damn nice tire but 2 up they only provide about 6K of useful service. (Looking at how far you use a tire up you will probably run to 7.5K or so, I ain't that brave with tires)

Now I am 3K into Dunlop American Elites. I am very happy with it. Measuring my tread depth it appears that 2up I am going to get about 14K or so out of this tire.

If you are into fast and corning as super speed (my Vrod loves this with cobras) then go Cobra from Avon. MotoXoutlet.com has the best price on Avons.

It you are into going moderately fast and riding long distance for least tire cost per mile while still having a great tire. American Elites...... Jakewilson.com for the best price.
Looks perfect to me I'd get er up to about 90mph or so and then wait for the dismount. Save a little more money,Whats a wear bar????

This is more my style. (removed moderate) I'll check into the AE's I sitll have a Commander II up front but it shouldn't matter. Looks like they dont make an AE in 160.70.17

Wear bars...Those are for pussies! :laugh:laugh
Just pulled the trigger on Metzeler Lasertec's from jakewilson....reviews seem to vary between 10k-20k on mileage and good wet grip.
I'm with ya I ride past em too, just pokin fun brother, you got your money outta that one. How many miles did ya get out of her?

Yeah I took no offence. That tire had ~16,500 miles on it.
Other then wet grip that was my only grip about them...In the wet and going strait it was fine...in a corner it would slide out some, and taking off it would spin if you were not super easy on the clutch....
Ha ha ha were so wet here I can never usually time it where the tires need changed at the end of summer. I don't worry about sliding around when I'm on the gas, that's half the fun It's when I need to stop that gets sketchy.
Nothing like running maypops on your skooter.

Hard stops were butt puckering lol even when they were new.,

Metz are a good tire.

Don't know what you have on the Odometer... but if you did 14K on the MCII after the stockers... you might think about taking a peak in the cam chest at those tensioner shoes!!!! They start to look like that old back tire of yours around 25K or so.....
