Traded Softail for a 2014 Ultra Limited

Well I finally made the decision that I wanted to get the Ultra Limited. I really liked the 2007 softail but I really wanted to enjoy the motorcycle with my wife and daughter and the softail just didn't cut it for that purpose. After doing some intensive test riding I found the Ultra Limited to be one fantastic bike and my family loves it. Am going back to the dealer to have air put in the shock and show me how to get the headset working. I installed it in my helmet, hooked it up to the bike, switched the menu from speaker to headset but couldn't get any sound thru the headphones. The bike drives like a dream. I will get some pics up today. I bought the vivid black but my idea is to do some custom paint to surpass the CVO paint which is nice and also to update motor, intake and exhaust over winter. I really at this point like the power of the bike. It is very quiet compared to my softail but it really doesn't matter. It is a beautiful bike.

Thanks for the comments, I found out i just didn't push the plug in enough on the helmet, so now the headset works and they pumped up the shocks a bit for me. I have to buy the pump this weekend. Pretty easy to do. To all the ultra guys that told me they love there ultras and wouldn't look back from them, I now understand you. I really liked the softail and it's a great bike but this bike can do it all.

If the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC ever decides to include a single HD model as an archetype in the Museum of American History, I firmly believe it should be an Electra Glide in vivid black.

Thanks Brother, I feel very lucky to have the chance to take care of this thing.
Welcome to Bagger nirvana...lol. I picked my '14 FLHTK up in mid-June after a lot of thinking...
You will enjoy it immensely...it's the best-handling 'Glide I've ever owned, and the wife loves it as well (bonus).

Oh, sure, you'll be modding it soon...antennas, seat, windhield, intake, mufflers, remap...whatever....that's just part of the fun and making it yours.

Ride safe!

Thanks for your info, I called Fuel Moto and talked to them about the kit you put on your bike and I think it is exactly what I want. A great exhaust note and performance air intake and the mapping device. The best part is I can install it. Did you use the map they sent you originally with no problem?
You don't need to drop $50 on the pump. Just turn down the push on your air compressor (a lot) and give it a tiny puff at a time. You can check the pressure with a traditional air pressure gauge.

Good luck.
Welcome to Geezer Glide Central! I bought my '14 Limited in June as well. I did the Sturgis thing on it this year and loved every minute of it. I'm a short-legged, fat f*ck, so I'm changing out the seat to lower it a bit and save my aching A$$. As a side note, you forgot to take pictures from underneath. ;)

Again, welcome. Nice ride.
