tweaked front end...how to fix it?

2241 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  800screws
on my 94 ultra, the front tire is aiming alittle to the left...i have to steer slightly to the right to compensate for it....what needs to be done to have the front end reset itself?
loosen the axle
loosen the axle clamps
loosen the lower triple clamp pinch bolts

anything else? is there upper pinch bolts? if there are, can a pic get posted?

Loosen up all front end clamps & axle points/triple clamps put the left side of the tire up against a curb & give a sharp twist to the left that should straighten out the problem. Then tighten it all back down.
Are there pinch bolts on the top triple clamp? And does the front fender need to come off?
I would pull the front fender. It would only add resistance and may be tweaked too.

Are you sure it`s the front end, not the bars and or risers?

This and also check the rear tire alignment.
Yeah it's def the front tire. Everything else is aligned except that. Anything to loosen on the top triple clamp?
Anyone? Is there something I need to lossen on the top triple clamp? Don't want to tear it apart twice
Shouldn't need to loosen anything on the top tree. May want to loosen the pinch bolts on the lower tree tho.

This.

If you are not going straight at highway speeds without any handlebar input (and no crosswind), it is the rear tire that needs adjusting. If your bike veers right, you need to make the front of the rear tire point slightly more to the right to counteract this.

You got some rear wheel steering going on.
When I have the front end...bars and fairing straight...and look at the front of the bike. The fender and tire are pointing to the left(if u were on the bike)
Ok gotcha, I think you have it covered in your first post then.
ok thanks....ill give it a whirl
