Check coil ohms.

Using an ohm meter, place it on low ohms, the lowest range is. One lead on +. With the other lead, touch one of the - terminals. Should read 3-5 ohms. The other terminal should read the same.

Next, with the meter set on a high Ohms, (20K+ Ohms or 100K ohms), put one lead on one of the secondary ignition connections (where the spark plug wire goes.) With the other lead, touch ground. Reading should be about 24K Ohms or so.

Check Ignition switch

Dyna and FXR models are known to have ignition switch failure cause the owners have to leave keys in the switch to work. Guys that hand 14 keys off a ring are the worst. Switch gets loose, archs and then melts inside, losing contacts.

Check voltage at kill switch

Kill switch should have 12v on one side, and then 12v on both, when turned to RUN.

You had to take the seat off too didn't you check all wires in and around tank area ands seat area you had to have done something that you didn't realize you done or unplugged.
