Did a Vietnam Veterans escort ride Saturday to the new Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Perryville, MO. Sunday rode down to Sweetwater BBQ, and Uranus Fudge Shop, then to little Stonehenge in Rolla.

Silvereagle50, if you wear a ballcap under that rainsuit hood, it won't cover your eyes, and helps to stop the water going behind your glasses.

Did a charity ride Saturday, cool, windy, cloudy. Had a great lunch, then on the return leg of the run, had to dodge the Mississippi river which was creeping over the roads, ran through a spot where it was a couple inches deep, and another spot where it was about 8" deep, then headed for high ground as the next spot looked to make us submariners! Temps in the 40's, wind, and wet pants legs really cooled a person off!

Mcnphotog, the air you are getting is coming up from between the fairing and the fuel tank, fork fangs are the only thing that stops that air.

sardonicus87, sorry to hear about your misfortune. Know well about broke ankle, got hit by a '71 Chevy Impala back in 1975, broke every bone in left leg, cracked and twisted the pelvis, shattered the talus bone and put it 6" up the shin bone which split vertically.

Yeah, the fork fangs go inside, but the way you have them may do just fine, only a ride will tell.

No riding today, 4" of snow on the ground and more coming, haven't had a November like this in 30 years around St. Louis!

You can get leather gaiters that go from your ankle to your knee, and you can get ****** (short chaps that go just below your knees). Might be easier to find in a tack store than a motorcycle store.

Rode yesterday, first ride with the GADS air deflectors on, I like them, they did the trick on stopping the air that was shaking my glasses all the time.

Sunday took a group of 13 bikes out for some wind therapy in the twisty's with a lunch stop in the middle. Guess I was to comfortable, as one of the group asked if I was late catching a flight as she felt we were pushing it to much, was only going 10 over the speed limit and 15 - 20 over what the corner signs said, didn't drag a floorboard once.

Local HOG Chapter New Years Day Ride, had nearly 50 bikes, 35 degrees, cloudy, light breeze and occasional mist. Had to dress for the ride, but not bad.

Tommytailspin - jeans, chaps, base layer top, fleece shirt, my nearly 40 year old leather jacket, gautlet gloves, grips set to #2 (pretty warm), wool socks and my harness boots, 1/2 helmet with ear covers, and a neck warmer. No electric gear. Now, I would have had to add more if I had a non-faired bike without lowers.

Most snow we've had in years, and heavy wet snow instead of dry powder. On top of that, they are calling for next weekend to be a repeat! Guess its making up for all those non-snowy winters here.

I've been known to play in the snow with my cage (1 ton crew cab dually), it seems to scare the hell out of people seeing it in a full lock slide on the road, and it takes up a bunch of the road doing it!

First too much salt on the roads and they were sweating like crazy, and now 4" of rain coming in with a sub-freezing drop in temps coming Thursday afternoon. Bike on its rug with the tender plugged in, did update the Boom software and installed shift rod with heim joints, new handlebars and front tire are next projects before spring gets here.

Found out that 10" bars on a Rushmore batwing is nearly the same as the stock bars, no joy. Taking them back and getting a set of 12" bars with only 5" of pullback to save my wrist, I guess to many years of dirt bikes and sportbikes, and work have limited the flexability of my wrist and the factory 10" pullback kills them after an hour or so.

Ahhh, finally dry and warm enough to get a check out run on the bike with the new 12" bars. Much more comfortable than the factory bars (now 5" pullback vs. factory 10" pullback), arms are now just a tad under shoulder level. Will take a bit of getting used to before riding at my usual pace though.

Got in 2 days of riding to work, which includes riding from building to building during the day, some of them 50 miles away, also rode to the HOG chapter meeting last night. Getting used to those new 12" bars.
