Cleaned bug guts, shined chrome, put on new pegs, took off God awful bra (on the bike🙃) and changed oil. Now its too effing hot to ride, so guess my friend Coors Light and I will just listen to the radio. 105 here!
Pictures, we need pictures! :D

I'm jealous of your weather. It is just too hot here to ride, my husband who is allergic to bees have to suit up so much that it's miserable for him he is just overheating. We wait until night time, until it cools down, which is not until about 8 p.m.
8 p.m.? That's the other reason i can't get the bike out of the barn, (besides my back being uncooperative) Because i get up 0 dark thirty, i crash out early. (Like 8:30). I miss night rides. Great way to blow the cob webs out of the mind!

Night rides are awesome. I like my pre-church rides Sunday mornings. Very peaceful and no traffic on back roads.

Washed and waxed the bike and am going to change the oil tonight. Getting ready for my trip to east Tennessee to meet up with my sister and BIL for a week of riding. Going to do the "Southern Dozen" this year with a possible trip back to the Dragon...we shall see how that goes though.

Well, the bike has been squared away for a while now and riding every day for the last week with no problems, so I am finally this week try to ride up to Columbus and visit Clay and see his FXR.

Dunno exactly what day, riding today was a pain, I slept wrong or something last night and my right shoulder has been killing me all day despite taking naproxen (Aleve; NSAID), methocarbamol (Robaxin; muscle relaxer) and having my wife massage and cup my shoulder (severely knotted up) and running a TENS unit on it for 30 minutes. If this is how I feel now at 33, I'm not looking forward to how my body will be feeling in another 30 years.

Stopped at Wal-Mart "neighborhood market" to grab a few groceries and a guy went out of his way to find me in the store to compliment my bike. First time in a long time someone complimented it and correctly identified it as a softail rather than calling it a dyna.

This was today, past few weeks have been mid 90's. Heat index was about 100-105 most day's. Nice cool down this next week 70's and low 80's.

Four or five years ago my wife got some very troubling news from a family member. She was near inconsolable and I felt helpless so reverted to the only thing I could think of. At 11:00 at night I rolled out the bike, gathered our gear and put her on the bike for a night ride. Told her night rides are great, you can really only see the road, especially that night with no moon. You can really clear your mind and get into all the other aspects of riding like sound, smell, wind. Two hours later she was feeling much better and we headed home. Must have worked for her, she went to sleep right after we got home.

Sardonicus, I can tell you what that 30 years later feels like! No NSAID's, Its Oxycontin and Zanoflex, its seeing a pain specialist every 3 months for injections in neck and low back, its the orthopedic surgeon telling you it's time for the knees to be done. Yep, life is grand!
