TWO CAKES I have that derby cover and the matching timing cover one. And I am a chrome whore also😎.
It’s a great looking Derby cover , I am nearly done now , it’s booked in next week to have the stage one map . I have a new battery to install , I will wait for the weather to get better , and then new tyres at the end of the riding season . Chrome is king .

Not me! I like to live dangerously (like the guy in the State Farm commercial). But I did change mine out earlier this year cause my garage door opener's battery was dead dead. So I put fob battery in the opener and put fresh battery in fob.

Went for usual ride earlier, whole week has been pretty decent riding, no encounters with idiots.

Friday is laundry day, so I decided to detail the Diablo quick so I could throw the detailing rag in the wash. Noticed when wiping it down, the windshield seemed a little loose at the back. Pulled the manual out to check torque spec on those screws... 5-7 in-lbs. How tf do you even measure that? I just tightened the screws to "finger tight plus a hair snug". It was really only the rear-most screws on either side that were loose.

Finally got a look at the stator on Willie. The one that was trouble free for 50 miles! Confirmed that I installed it right I sure used plenty of thread locker on the sprocket and clutch nuts. Buy another stator and regulator? Scott told me electrical parts last 2 minutes to 20 years. I hope that is the case here.

New phone camera takes quality pictures eh?
They really are incredible. The newer/ish Pixel cameras don't even need to use the flash. The low light sensitivity is that good. I can take a pic of stuff too dark for me to see and the camera will pick it up no problem.

I leave my good camera at home except for special occasions now.

A different kinda ride!

This morning my bride and i headed out to our riding buddies place (he has a broken foot and can't ride. His bikes been in unplanned storage since October.) He (Eric) said it was October but, I'm thinking it was November... but anyways, ya get the idea. (he broke his foot at work, not in a m/c accident).

My bride and Eric took the MSF class together and both have been riding street for about 3 years. Eric started with a Sporty then switched out to a SGS. Lisa has not been behind the bars on anything larger than her 1200 Sporty. Until today.

Today when we (Lisa & I) stopped to top off the fuel tanks, she said she wanted to ride my Ultra in that big empty parking lot next to the gas station... So, to the lot we went.

She rode around that lot for 15-20 minutes. No issues at all. (Just the normal skittish.)

When we got to Eric's another riding buddy of ours was there, James. We all hung around BS'n and teasing.
Eric, wanted me to run his bike. To knock the flat spots out of the tires and stur the fluids.

We left the Sporty at Erics. Lisa on my Ultra and I rode Erics SGS. Rode around the neighborhood for a few laps.
Eric, called her out on riding the big bike... So then, she wanted to ride the Ultra for the day... She didn't want to attempt the freeway (especially in Temecula! (That's always a madhouse) We rode around the byways where the traffic was light. A few struggles with stopping smoothly, a quick lesson in releasing the front brake around 15-20 mph smoothed that right up.

We wound up in Wildomar, (a spot on the map between Lk. Elsinore and Temecula) So she wanted to ride over to visit her Mom at the other end of Temecula. Through town... Lots and lots of stops. Visited with her mom for a 1/2 hour or so, then back to Eric's to trade bikes back.

All n all right at 100 miles running around. She was very happy and we were all surprised just how well she did with her first time on a touring bike.
The weather was just perfect! 65 leaving the house, then the temps gradually climbed to 84 Bluebird day!
The last 5 miles or so the temps dropped 10 degrees. Now got the clouds rolling over..
Great time! Great friends! ;)
