We had this and other Harleys in the family from the 50s

"My" opinion; Pre '58 Duoglide as it has the wishbone frame, Duoglides had straight leg frame. No Duoglide emblem on fender (easy to remove though). '58's had round plastic tank emblem. The toolbox is mounted horizontally, '58's were verticle. It appears to be a hand shift model, due to lack of front brake lever on right bar. My info comes from the Harley Davidson Data book, not my rusty old mind.
