I have been researching this cam. All the info I can find is that it makes great power, a-typical for a noisey valve train, and on Woods website, it says "bar hopper". I live on Reno, so i like going for desert rides, riding on thd sierr nevadas, and i want to travel. My bike is a daily rider (when it isn't snowing) my commute is mostly freeway. But I also do a lot of group rides. Will the tw8 be a good cam for my needs, or other going to be too much cam for me? My goal is to pick cam that will suite my desires, and then build around that.

Well from what you describe that cam going by Woods description the TW8 does not suit your needs.

What are you looking to gain, with every gain there usually is a compromise.

What year bike would help also.

Yeah, I suppose current info would be helpful! 07 FXDC, sampson street sweepers (changing that out for a road rage, that will be part of the build). so TW8 sounds like a no go. I do like to ride fast (who doesnt?!) usually cruising around 90. with this new info and info from above, what would y'all suggest?

The Woods cams have a bad rap for being noisy. Just put the T-777 cams in mine. No more noisy than the stock 255 cams.

Bit as said, both those woods cams like a little compression bump.
