I found this on another forum i frequent and thought it needed to be shared. He reminds me so much of the older gentlemen I knew growing up as a kid. None of them are heroes it their eyes, "I was doing what I had to do, nothing more. Now there was a couple of guys I served with and those guys were heroes" Then the story shows that they were right in the thick of it, shoulder to shoulder with the "heroes", but they never thought themselves heroes. I'd like to spend an afternoon with him, I'll bet he has some tales.

I hope to get around that well at that age, if I make it there. :USA

"Found" my old man in that museum. Definitely a trip worth making if you've never been there.

Best thing i can offer, is to suggest a visit to the WWII memorial in DC. Most days you can run into one if the men who was actually there. A chance to get dome history from the real source, and not some edited book.,
