Does anyone know if I can tie into the radio system and add a usb port for playing music? I'd like to be able to charge my phone or play music from a thumb drive.

You can get USB hubs/ports made to tie into the electrical system.
Mountable in various locations on the bike.
That takes care of your charging needs.
But unless your head unit has a harness in the back you can`t see.
In order to get music playing ability a new head unit will likely be needed.

You can't add a USB port that works like that, but you can add bluetooth to the radio and bluetooth stream audio to your radio. There's a bunch of different solutions for that.
